A local wedding. A young wedding. A passionate vow taking.
Carly Salter is just a few years older than I, and to see someone so confidently and purely in love with someone, willing to take the greatest emotional plunge of all, was terrifying and inspiring at the same time. Thanks so much to Carly and Pat for inviting me to document their day, and bring alone Colin and Will to fill in my very gaping gaps.
This was our second wedding as the Mosswood Group. We were able to scour every bit of the wedded landscape that day with the three of us. The ceremony was a particularly all-hands-on-tripod affair where each one of us was in charge of a camera on sticks with another camera in hand getting pickups and closeups. The whole day was already running late and wedding party photos needed to happen, the ceremony set-up, people arriving, and the ceremony starting sll within 30minutes. The audio needed to be wrangled on the officiant, another mic plugged into the PA, making sure everything had batteries, unbagging the three tripods and setting them up, getting empty cards and batteries into the locked off cameras (a 5Dii, a C300 and a 7D - while we held an a7sii, a C300, and a 5Diii), while I filmed the wedding party taking photos. It was full-on, but between our 6 cameras we got it all. The audio came through nice and clean through the speakers, and although some of the tripod cams cut out, we were there with cameras in hand getting what our "trusty" locked off shots were not. Ceremonies are only usually 15-25minutes so it's not THAT much time to be fully documenting.
Thanks again Carly and Pat. Happy life.
