The Telluride AIDS Benefit was consistently one of the things about our unique mountain community that represented how out-there, creative, wild, raunchy and daring performance and people can be. The show was always talked about for weeks.
They had a student version that a group of highschool students pulled off, I was one of those students every year of highschool. At first helping mix the hour long soundtrack, then creating the opening AIDS facts slideshow, and then into an opening intro video as I grew into filmmaking.
There was no raunchiness in our show, except for whatever the mess in your stomach happens when hardcore bass stirs up your gut. All the choreography was by a senior choreographer, organization by a few students in charge, and a big ol' group of highschoolers who "made the cut" (through our cute auditions) and volunteered to have a heavy extra-curricular for 5 weeks.
